This privacy policy governs Camp Birchmont's treatment of "personal information" that Camp Birchmont collects when you are anywhere on the Camp Birchmont website. This privacy policy may not apply to websites outside of Camp Birchmont’s control that you may visit through your use of Camp Birchmont. Because Camp Birchmont does not control these sites, Camp Birchmont cannot be responsible for their information practices. Personal Information:

Camp Birchmont will ask for your name, email address, address and phone number during the registration and/or request for information process. Camp Birchmont will ask for credit card information if you wish to purchase goods or services offered on our website, and as an optional method for certain parental verification procedures (see below). In addition, if you are seeking potential employment at a summer camp in the Camp Birchmont network, you may be asked to provide other personal information (such as a social security number).

Camp Birchmont asks for personal information when you: (a) register on Camp Birchmont, (b) enter sweepstakes and contests sponsored by us or one of our partners, or (c) send email messages, submit forms or send other information or content to Camp Birchmont. We also may receive certain personal information from some of our third party partners. Additionally, despite Camp Birchmont 's best efforts, third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications.

Cookies:
The servers of our website provider, Bunk1, automatically collect information about what parts of Camp Birchmont users visit and which pages are viewed. We use a feature of your browser called a "cookie" to assign a User ID that automatically identifies your computer when you visit the site. This is common practice on the Internet. Cookies do not tell us anything about unrelated sites that you visit, nor do they tell us anything else about what you may do on your computer. Camp Birchmont uses cookies to determine who is a new visitor to Camp Birchmont vs. who is a repeat visitor and other overall site statistics. Our web service provider, Bunk1, uses industry-standard efforts to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information, such as firewalls and secure socket layers where appropriate.

Message Boards and Other Private Areas:
Message boards, photo galleries and other private areas of a camp website are intended for members of that camp community only. For your security, these areas require passwords that are provided to people affiliated with that camp (e.g., campers and parents).

To promote a safe and friendly environment online, Camp Birchmont and/or the camp owner (or other camp owner-designated camp staff) may monitor these pages and Message Boards, use filtering software and remove any material it finds inappropriate or objectionable. In addition, Camp Birchmont and/or the camp owner (or other camp owner-designated camp staff) may investigate any complaints about users who are improperly using Camp Birchmont's services to harass or annoy others or gather personal information. If you believe someone has gained improper access to any private areas, or you encounter any other problems with Camp Birchmont users, please notify Camp Birchmont at privacy@CampBirchmont.com.

You should not disclose personal information on a Message Board. If you voluntarily disclose personal information, that information can be collected and used by others.
